Outside the Box |

As teachers, we frequently tell students to think "outside the box." Perhaps, in using new technologies we use that phrase even more. Additionally, school systems are building technology capacity, but some acquisitions may take longer than others. Because of lower capacity at rural schools and limited connectivity, students are challenged even more to think of creative ways to implement technology to enhance learning in both traditional and contemporary practices. Each Methods professor developed two technology "Outside the Box" activities. Based on the student's classroom assignment, the student may choose to develop a technology unit which focuses on traditional methods of integrating technology (word processing, database management, and video recording), or which implements more contemporary methods (video conferencing, Internet field trips, and digital video editing). This page shares ideas and activities.
